The Studio

A peek behind the scenes at what I’m making, exploring, & figuring out along the way. The studio is where ideas become reality. Some begin as scribbled notes in a journal. Others arrive on quiet walks, while kayaking a salty marshland, or halfway up a twisted mountain trail. Sometimes they’re inspired by an old myth, a weathered stone, or a conversation around a backyard bonfire. Whatever their beginning, this is where they slowly take shape.

Inspiration Lives Everywhere

I’ve learned that inspiration rarely arrives while staring at a blank page. It shows up in that mysterious time first thing in the morning when I’m half awake and half asleep. While wandering a forest trail. Watching ravens circle overhead. Listening to a summer thunderstorm. Or noticing something small and miraculous that everyone else just walked right past and never even noticed. The natural world has always been my greatest teacher. The Studio is simply where those discoveries and little sparks of inspiration are translated into books, artwork, souvenirs and experiences to share with others.

Where It All Began

Before Fierce Like Freyja grew into books, art, stories, & all the other things taking shape around here, there was Learn the Runes—a place I created to make learning the runes approachable, memorable, & fun.

It began with my own curiosity & eventually grew into rune decks, learning tools, & a website devoted entirely to helping people discover this ancient symbolic language.
