Curiosity and wanderlust define me. Like my Viking ancestors, I have a deep need to discover and explore.

I've been known to notice a trail disappearing into the trees and then head off down the pathway just to see where it might lead.

I have always been curious about people, ideas, the natural world, old stories, and forgotten places. I love finding the small details most people hurry past.

My pockets have rarely been empty. They have carried seashells collected along the coast, unusual rocks discovered along trails, fossils found while searching shorelines, and tiny treasures that caught my attention because something about them felt special.

I have always been a collector—not of material things, but of moments: a hawk feather found on a walk, a perfect wishing stone, a wildflower growing where it shouldn't, a mysterious story hidden within a rune-carved standing stone.

I've followed my curiosity many places. I've kayaked quiet marshes while photographing unsuspecting wildlife. I've listened to coyotes calling across the high desert of Oregon. I've walked the beaches of Wilmington collecting seashells and sunburns. I've combed the banks of the Potomac River in search of fossilized sharks' teeth millions of years old. I've climbed through ancient stone cairns in the Scottish Highlands, feeling the connection between my own footsteps and the countless footsteps that came before me.

I've always been drawn to places that make us slow down. A quiet forest trail. A windswept shoreline. A sky full of northern lights. The hush that settles over the world after fresh snow. These are the places where I notice the most, wonder the most and feel most at home.

That same curiosity has shaped much of my life. For more than two decades, I've worked as a school counselor, walking alongside children, families, and educators through seasons of growth, uncertainty, and change. I also had the opportunity to work as a therapist with clients ranging from young children to older adults. Those experiences taught me that healing rarely begins with having all the answers. More often, it begins with asking thoughtful questions, listening deeply, and seeing ourselves with greater compassion.

Outside of my professional life, I've spent years immersed in Norse mythology, the runes, and the old stories of the North. I'm fascinated by the ways ancient symbols & stories continue to speak to modern lives—not as relics of the past, but as timeless invitations to reflect, grow, question & see things differently.

Looking back, I realize I've never really been searching for places or stories alone. I've been searching for the moments that remind us to pay attention—to the world, to one another, and to ourselves.

Whether I'm writing, creating, wandering through nature, kayaking quiet rivers, or collecting shells and stones that catch my eye, I'm continually reminded that wonder isn't something we outgrow. It's something we rediscover.

I hope that whatever brought you here—a love of nature, mythology, the runes, or simple curiosity—you'll find something that encourages you to look a little closer, ask a few more questions, and leave feeling inspired to explore both the world around you and the one within.
